Current Opening: Payroll Manager

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing all payroll functions for a rapidly growing and diverse company. In addition to calculating earnings/deductions in a periodic payroll and issuing pay and pay-related information to our staff, this position will also be the subject matter expert on payroll – resolving payroll issues as they arise, while seeking out improvements in the operational process.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes payroll for all employees and contractors (including calculating garnishments, commissions, bonuses and PTO) on a weekly basis
  • Ability and experience working with non-standard payroll. This includes commission and bonus compensation.
  • Manage a high volume of payroll, to include 450+ employees
  • Collect and summarize timekeeping information for accurate payroll processing
  • Maintains and supervises the maintenance of payroll records and databases and prepares reports weekly for bonus and payroll calculation
  • Evaluates existing processes and design and implement process improvements (collaborating with Accounting and Human Resources staff)
  • Keep up to date on legislation and regulation changes that affect the payroll process
  • Maintain knowledge base and resource information for multi-state payroll processing
  • Provides training in payroll processes and process changes; participates in selection processes to fill vacant positions
  • Provide support for the department such as data entry, employee record keeping, administrative duties
  • Create audit reports to verify the accuracy of the payroll run
  • Manage the daily operations of the payroll group
  • Maintain, direct and calculate the entry of data
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of the payroll records
  • Other duties and requirements may be assigned as process change and are updated


  • Must have 3+ year payroll experience (complex pay structure experience a plus)
  • High volume payroll experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, business, accounting, or related field
  • Knowledge of basic payroll concepts, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of wage and hour regulations, tax laws affecting payroll, and payroll processing
  • Intermediate level of experience and
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong sense proactivity, detail orientated, organized, punctual, and self-disciplined
  • Ability to maintain company confidentiality
